the naked truth about sunscreen

Sunscreen in Central Texas is a must for us all. But, do you think your kids would wear it if you weren’t constantly telling them to? My kids do, but only because I’ve shown them what a sun-damaged face looks like with a Wood’s Lamp. You might feel like Diane Kruger with a tan, but you’ll be looking like Freddy Krueger by 50. The fairer you are, the more sensitive you are to the sun, and faster you age if you don’t protect yourself.

It’s good to know that there are moms in Austin that not only take good care of their kids by making sure they are protected, they also educate their kids so that when mom is not around, the right choices will (hopefully) still be made.

Take the Brotzman twins for example…I love what they say at 2:16, not only do they know that the sun causes skin cancer, they know it causes wrinkles. They even had a twin-moment and said it together. Give that mom a medal:)

Look for both UVA and UVB protection and decide if you want a chemical or a physical sunscreen. Physical is my choice.

Don’t be cheap with your skin. Get a good sunscreen, it’s the only skin you have. This is my current favorite…
