Friday night I attended the Cover Girls with Kathy Valentine benefit/fashion show for Kids in a New Groove and was invited by Anastasia Gajkowski of Saks to do a behind the scenes post on the fun before the show. The people at Saks in Austin are absolutely top notch, and even though it was rainy and cold outside, the evening was a fun dose of Spring fashion.

Tony Cruz of Lancôme did the make up on Julie Jumonville. When I asked Tony what was happening for spring he said, "This is not your grandmother's pink and blue. Spring is about warm golds and metallics." He was also sweet enough to give me a little touch up before the show and, let me tell you, this guy is good. If you're by Saks anytime soon, go see him.

Lindsey Grandberry, stylist with Saks 5th Avenue Club, chose bright color-blocked and floral pieces. Tangerine is big for spring, as well as pink, green and coral. The green python bag is from Gucci. The clutches all Diane von Furstenberg.
Larissa Ness on keyboard. Check out Larissa and her music on her site www.LarissaNess.com. This girl has a voice that matches her energy, and she’s cool too.
Looks on the runway…

AnnMarie Olson, DDS (center) with her boyfriend (sorry, didn't get his name - email me and I"ll add) and Jake Gyllenhaal (not really, but I think he looks like him).

I have to say Happy Birthday to my sweet friend Shari, without whom tonight would have been a helluva hair day. Thanks for keeping me straightened out.

I’m ready to head to Saks! (BTW – You and birthday girl look awesome! Sorry to miss the party!)
