Last week I got talked into doing something that I usually say no to…because it’s a major pain. But since school is starting soon, I thought I would give in and let my daughter take our spoiled-rotten diva dachshund, Kallee, to the domain. She is cute, and I think that is part of why it’s fun to bring her. Everyone wants to say hi when you have a cute dog.
When I shop, I like to go where I need to go quickly, and bringing a dog that may poop or pee in a store where they are selling $800 shoes is not my idea of fun. It reminds me of the days when I shopped with the girls when they were little. I always knew at any moment I might have to stop what I’m doing and take care of an accident. Sadly, none of this ever kept me from shopping. It just always took longer than it should have.
I have to say that everyone at the Domain was so sweet and friendly. I think they actually like seeing dogs there, if they are well-behaved. If you are looking for a dog-friendly place to take your fur children, this is the spot.
She did pretty well at Anthropologie, found some glasses and a book. I was looking at the candle. I love that store more for the home accessories than I do the clothes.
Lunch at The Steeping Room was perfect for a summer’s day.
Kallee liked hiding under the table the best.
We were trying to make her sit up. She would not do it.
We found this little corner at Ralph Lauren. The perfect spot to put a naughty little dog while you shop.
A cute Boston Terrier was looking at Kallee. She, of course, ignored him.
Finally got to sit down at Free People while the girls looked at some clothes.
I could not imagine life without our dogs. They are as much as part of our family as we are. In Europe people bring their dogs everywhere, and I’m so glad that in Austin we have a place that allows us to bring our dogs shopping. It ended up being really fun to have Kallee with us, and I was glad that I let myself get talked into it. In fact, it was easier than rolling a stroller around and dealing with diapers. As for the people who worked there, I would say they would take dealing with a dog over a toddler any day.
